Learning reflection

Course progress

Once you have completed the ‘Concluding the Lesson’ section of the course, view the learning reflection to see how well you have absorbed the material. If you miss any questions, go back and watch the video to ensure you fully understand the material.

Time to test the knowledge you’ve gained in Part 7. (click each question to reveal the answer)

Students must synthesise new learning and reflection supports students to do this. It also assists students to understand the relevance of the learning and consider how this learning may be applied to other reading/viewing/listening episodes.

Statements are open-ended. Students sometimes feel more comfortable responding because they don’t feel there is one correct answer. For example, “When would it be useful to infer?” feels different to “I’m wondering when inferring might be helpful.”

For a list of statement starters please read our blog “Encouraging Opt-in Learning Behaviour”.

Discussion is a valuable way of supporting synthesis. A quick focussed chat at the end of the lesson prompts students to think about, remember and articulate their learning.

Listen in to make inferences about what students have learned.

Well done! That’s the end of the learning reflection for part 7.
